Time to get into some holiday “spirits!”

South Florida babes, you need to go to LPM Miami & drink these 5 holiday drinks before they’re gone!

We were recently invited to experience the extended ‘Jean Cocteau’ holiday drink menu at LPM Bar & Restaurant in Miami, Florida. This dynamic menu features a range of liquors & flavors each served in a unique (& totally grammable) drinking glass. The holiday drinks include: Tribute, Maman, Jean a Jean, Garçon au Cafe and Madeleine 1957. Our bartender had fabulous showmanship and shared a brief history of how each drink related back to the life of poet “Jean Cocteau,” as detailed below.

“Greetings to our Friends”

Seasonal Holiday Drinks Menu

The holiday drinks menu titled “Greetings to our Friends,” celebrates the seasonal tradition of sending cards, and each cocktail represents a different type of letter.

LPM Miami Bar & Restaurant holiday drinks - "Maman"

Maman

Foie Gras-washed Rémy Martin 1738, Sauternes Reduction, White Balsamic & Walnut Bitters.

The Maman (Letter to his Mom), representing luxury, grandeur, and success, is a foie gras-based cocktail. What can we say, Jean was a mama’s boy!

LPM Miami Bar & Restaurant holiday drinks - "Tribute"

Tribute

Remy Martin 1738, Green Chartreuse, Smoked Islay Honey & Clémentine. Served hot or cold.

The Tribute (Letter to a Friend) is a festive take on a classic “penicillin” and is named after a sombre event in Jean’s life.  Within the same decade of discovery of penicillin, Jean Cocteau’s dear friend lost his life, which otherwise could’ve been saved by this medicine. This drink is a Tribute to him; a cocktail dedicated to an ill or health-conscious friend, featuring holistic “medicinal” benefits.

Jean à Jean

Rémy Martin 1738, Christmas Wine and a touch of Spice. Served hot or Cold.

The Jean a Jean (Letter to his Lovers) is a mulled wine cocktail, served either hot or cold, in a hand-painted clay pot, symbolizing Jean Cocteau’s private love life, which through the years, inspired both him and his art. The highlight of the romantic life of Jean Cocteau was his relationship with actor Jean Marais, hence the name of the holiday drink: Jean a Jean.

Garçon de Café

Calvados, freshly brewed Single Origin Coffee, Christmas Spiced Napoléon Reduction, Vanilla Creme Custard, Mandarin Dust.

The Homme au Café (Letter to Society) cocktail shares how the traditional café makes an impact to society as being a location to gather with others. Tis the season for gathering together, and nothing brings people together like coffee!

The Madeleine 1957 (Letter to Life) cocktail is the perfect combination of sweet and bitter and is served in aged clay pots and is reminiscent of life.

A letter FROM you!

Continuing with the theme of letters and in the spirit of bringing people together, each table is given an physical post card that they can fill out and send to anyone, anywhere in the world for free- just be sure to place it in their gold postal box on your way out! We adored this thoughtful activation and enjoyed taking a moment to write a postcard to our parents as we sipped on a “Maman”.

Provisions & Desserts

LPM Miami Bar & Restaurant Burrata & cherry tomato on a Crostini

We had an amazing time drinking through the entire Holiday menu, but we couldn’t have done so without splitting a couple of tapas! When you dine at LPM, your experience begins with a tomato & lemon salad. We would HIGHLY recommend ordering the “Burrata et Tomatoes” AKA the best burrata we have ever tasted!

LPM Miami Bar & Restaurant Prawns

We would also recommend the “Crevettes tiedes a l’Huile d’Olive”. These savory prawns have a buttery texture from bathing in a fresh olive oil sauce.

When it comes to dessert, our bartender told us you have not been to LPM if you haven’t tried the Gâteau au Formage Frais! This was the lightest and fluffiest cheesecake we have ever eaten- and the berry compote added the perfect balance of sweetness! But it was the “Mousse au Chocolat Chaud et Glace à l’Orge” that stole our hearts. This decadent chocolate mousse topped with ice cream is what dreams are made of!
